NFTE BizTech 1.0

Ignia partnered with Microsoft and The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) to create a web-based edition of NFTE’s award-winning business curriculum, which was targeted towards providing "at risk" youth the tools necessary to start and manage a small business.

Project Details

Ignia’s initial role as a technology consultant expanded into a full development partner, resulting in the creation of the BizTech 1.0 online product. As part of this release, Ignia proposed, designed, developed, and launched a product that included the following functions:

Automation of administrative tasks such as test scoring
Personalization of content according to student progress
E-Commerce integration for student and teacher licensing
Data tracking, management, and reporting for teachers and administrators
Statistical reporting tools for gauging the success of the curriculum

In addition, Ignia proposed, defined and prototyped the following functionality for the next version release:

"Virtual Teacher" allowing dynamic instruction based on student needs, including customized content and quizzes optimized for the student's primary language, reading level, critical thinking skills, or tested competency in mathematics or English.
BizGame: A simulated market environment where a student could compete with other students through the virtual management of a retail storefront.
Online Collaboration: A series on features intended to create on online community, including integration of discussion and messaging services into the standard curriculum.
